30/31.8.18. Hoppers Crossing to Singapore and Copenhagen
Late night after Pink. Home to Hoppers with Lyn.
Up and final packing - change over of wallets and last minute bits and bobs. Then to…

Suzie Rocking those pants.

Oh and I forgot to mention Champagne…

…before take off.

Some turbulence early on delayed the meal.

Full service.

Entree

Main course followed by delicious cheese plate which I ate sans photo -oops!
After a small nap. More food more tv and safe arrival in Singapore. Into the lounge for just over an hour before a further hike to our gate for the next leg - Singapore to Copenhagen.

Oops forgot to take pics of the rest. Muesli and buttermilk pancakes.

Clouds above Denmark 🇩🇰

Green and wet out there.

Coming in to land.

Airports are pretty similar the world over- in my experience at least.

From Copenhagen we flew on SAS to Oslo. We both had aisle seats. Suzie’s row was full, mine empty so I scored a window seat and Suzie moved over. Some good views out of COP and into Oslo about an hour and ten later.

Our original seats.

Out of Copenhagen.

NB. wind turbines COP.

Before we knew it, we were landing in sunny Oslo.

It seemed really dry in some paddocks. Lots of little villages or hamlets.

Once we had collected our bags (they were slow getting to carousel) we headed into to find our best option to the city. On the way we loaded up with some Norwegian Kroner (NOK).

Saw this great quote right near Information while sussing the train option.

We arrived at Hotel Thon Cecil at 11.45 and rooms were ready to be checked into by lovely Daphne.

Cheers at the Scotsman.

Fearless. girl.

Breakfast this morning at Priscilla Jones Cafe with Lyn, Rae and Lizzie.
Slow trip over Westgate due to the hugemungus fire in Tottenham. Smoke trail across the bridge and bay and enormous billowing clouds of charcoal grey smoke literally rolling up and into the skyline.
Top breaky as always at PJ’s Cafe and hellos to Bronwyn.
Then over to St Kilda to Aunty Sue’s. Thanks Lyn a great friend providing bed, breakfast and transport.
Aunty Sue was anxiously awaiting the postman - keen to receive the waterproof pants she’d ordered from the UK. She’d given up when Uncle Keith arrived on the scene and checked the mailbox - wah laa - pants delivered to the mailbox and not to the door as Suzie had anticipated.
Suzie Rocking those pants.
Then it was time for activating UK SIM cards and sorting out Viber, new numbers etc before some play time with Bobby the pup (who lost a tooth) then Uber to thbe airport and we’re ready to fly.
A lovely Uber driver - a Dad taking a career break to be a stay at home Dad to two primary aged girls and a nice clean Car.
A quick visit to the lounge after hassle free check in and customs and before we know it we are ensconced in our seats on Singapore Flight 228 To Singapore.
Plenty of hidey holes for ‘stuff’ around the roomy seat 17K.
Oh and I forgot to mention Champagne…
…before take off.
Take off on time I think.
Some turbulence early on delayed the meal.
One movie down as dinner arrived - The Post. All my chosen movies and Tv is saved to favourites ready to go after a snooze I hope.

Lounge is very busy. We both enjoyed a shower. Then it was soon time to find the gate. We sort of moseyed through the Changi airport to our next plane - took it a little easy and walked onto the air bridge as they were making final boarding call.
Same seats. Same layout. Ready for our 12 and half hours to Copenhagen.
Did our best to get some 💤 sleep. Suzie was off before dinner, I ate some and then had the bed made up. Not sure how many hours sleep. A bit of laying awake but awoke with 2.5 hours to go.
Ready for 🍳 for breakfast in bed.

Touchdown at around 6.20am Scandinavian time.

Into the terminal to await check in for next flight - COP to Oslo where we will meet Tracy and the adventure kicks off for real. Suzie and I purchased lounge access so now sitting and chilling with Coffee and fresh food and changing over our SIM to 3UK which we purchased before leaving.
They have the most amazing cheese slicer. I’m off to take a pic and then upload the blog so far. Will add the Oslo update later.

After our own research thanks to Trip It and Maps.me apps we’d decided train and mr information confirmed our thinking. A taxi was going to set us back about $130+ compared to Flytorget train which was less and super efficient, came within 10 mins and so quiet.
We arrived at Hotel Thon Cecil at 11.45 and rooms were ready to be checked into by lovely Daphne.
Rooms comfy, showered and washed clothes.
Tracy was still a couple of hours away so left a note and we strolled down to the waterside for a bite of lunch. 2 delicious open sangas - one with Shrimp and one with plaice and asparagus plus a sparking water - cost $73. Yup tis a bit pricey but delicious!!
From there we wandered around the waterfront area - saw Ugly (but growing on us) Townhall, The Nobel peace building and then strolled further around the old town and fortress area, before heading back to meet Tracy.
We were determined to keep going till about 8.30 local time.
The pm activity was tram (trikk) to the Vigeland Sculpture Park then a tram back.

We walked around the city centre looking at various buildings Grand Hotel, Parliament and others before calling it drink o’clock at the Scotsman.
