17.9.18 Day 18. Malmö to Copenhagen

Up this am for a walk around the neighbourhood before breaky, then returned the car.

Hotel stairway

Duxiana makes beds and mattresses. These models were in the stairwell.

Advertising bike.

Old telephone booth.

Doors to a loft.

Old building.

Thought this was a good omen for the Tigers, but not to be.

Sculptures on a ball.

One ugly guy yelling at the bird.

The bird with another sculpture behind

Fountain in the park.

Little did I know we’d be sailing under the bridge later.

Another manhole cover.

The umbrellas by daylight

Breakfast view.

The canal.
Last night we saw boat trips that you hire the electric boat and drive around the canals yourself. I booked it all online. We walked about 5 minutes from hotel to the jetty, picked a boat, started it using the app and then navigated around the canals with the app also. It told us how long left and provided information on the sights along the way. Pretty amazing.

All aboard and we are off.

They even had hats, cushions and blankets on board.

Peaceful

Cans and bottles hanging under the bridge.

Under we go.

There were several fishermen- both on the bank and from kayaks.

Smile.

We ventured out into almost open harbour but decided not to take our little boat across to Copenhagen.

Me at the helm.

Looking into the sun.

A sculpture along the way.

These swans were still on their little island when we sailed past the first time. They were out and about with their nearly full grown cygnets when we came back again.

Reflections
We enjoyed our little boat tour - where we managed to circumnavigate the canal and then reverse it. We saw different bits on return journey.

We’d been advised by hotel staff that the views from bar on 25th floor of Clarion Hotel were good, it was closed last night so we went up for lunch and a drink.

View over the city.

The Øresund Bridge was barely visible on the haze

There it is a little clearer

The famous Turning Torso building

From there it was back to collect luggage, cab to the Central Station - just across the road, then off by train across The Øresund Bridge to Denmark and Copenhagen.

Crossing The Bridge.

On the train. Not a particularly clean or impressive train.
