So what's been happening between then and now...planning and lots of it.

With emails flying left and right, it seemed we had three of us keen to head off.

 Plans were firming as per email below.

Well I am feeling very happy and very lucky, the two people I have enjoyed travelling with the most are both coming to Scandinavia with me.
And that's not B....s..t!! You really are both fantastic travelling companions!!

I am still waiting for pricing on the cruise. In fact I am about to shoot off emails again.
I am thinking we should do the cruise late August. Less tourists?? I hope or early September before it gets too cold.

I have nutted a bit of a plan which I think will work.......basically going in a big sorta circle.

3 days in Oslo. Walking tour and whatever else there is to do.

Fly to Bergen where the cruise starts and the next full day in Bergen to do what sounds a pretty amazing day. It's called Norway in a Day. Yet to be fully explored but I have read about it 3 or 4 times already!!
It appears the scenery is amazing.

Board the ship late the next day. Six full days on cruise. 
We disembark in the very north of Norway close to the Russian border and fly to Stockholm from Kirknes. About 4 hours, about AUD$200 but all flights via Oslo so one stop.

5 -6 days in Sweden. The trick is to finish in Malmo which is a 30 min train ride and about $15 across a very narrow strip of water. to Copenhagen.

4-5 days in Denmark then home.

If you give me places and dates I am happy to research accomodation, tours or anything else.

I am happy to have my own room because of all my quirks and foibles plus I snore. I can't stand anyone else snoring so I am not going to inflict my snoring on anyone!!

But if you are interested in sharing rooms etc to cut costs, (And I know you are both great easy room mates as I have shared with both of you in the past) we should talk about it before I start making bookings..

So I leave it there. Awaiting all comments etc.

Up and checked out a bit later this am.  Off to hop on hop off bus. First one full. There are 5 or so cruise ships in Port so we reckon they are the problem.    View from my room this am. The Hanseatic Museum which I checked out later in the day. An old market we think. The facade looks like a wedding cake. A fter hop on hop off we each went our separate ways with about 5 hours to spend looking around. Basically we all looked at St John’s Church up the top of town, then checked out different things. 22.9.18 - Day 23. Odense to Copenhagen

Up and at em this morning, to make our way back to the train station to return to Copenhagen. Unfortunately, I buggered up, and convinced the other two, that the train in front of us, wasn't the right one...turned out it was, so we had to wait another hour or so...major oops!! Tracy and Suzie were very kind and didn't yell or scream. We dropped our luggage at our last hotel, and grabbed a cab for the Changing of the guard at the Royal Palace (the home of Mary and Frederik and family). We actually got caught BEHIND the guards, marching to the Castle. Our cabbie was brilliant and got us down a side street in time to see the action. Here we are waiting for the train, not sure if it's the first one or second one!     Into the cab and got a behind the scenes view of Guards marching to the Palace. They were making a getaway and we were worried we'd miss the changing of the guards. But...we made it, I snuck around the crowd, and was lucky to get a fron...

6.9.18 Day 7 - Hurtigruten- Yurke and Ålesund

Sailing overnight on our Hurtigruten ship, the MS Nordkapp.  As I said our room is quite amazing - not tiny at all.  Forgot to take a pic BEFORE we moved in. Tracy on the right, me on the left. Tom, one of the staff who does our room and serves us dinner, made my bed and put it back to our couch.   Whilst sleeping, with a slight rock n roll we actually made very short 15minute stops at Florø and Måløy. The ship is a working ship, it is a ferry with capacity for 24 cars and also for freight. I did hear the ropes going out at Måløy, but otherwise slept soundly.  I got up had my shower and went out on a cold and windy deck to watch us dock at Torvik. We were due at 7.15 but we are running a bit behind schedule, something to do with the conditions sailing overnight.  Sunrise on the Fjiord. Sun rising 7.00 in the morning.  There are people getting on and off at the stops and just under 600 passengers on board. The crew also have loaded/unloaded freight at our sh...
