Planning: Gurdy gurfy Hurdy - it all Sound like the Swedish chef off the muppets to me!!!!

At this stage of proceedings we are each taking one country and playing the travel agent role.

Suzie has Norway, Tracy has Denmark and Nic has Sweden.

Suzie is out of the blocks early and getting us all into gear, questions need to be posed and decisions made and responses sent. Let's not forget Keith, who is being roped into the flight side of things.

The titles of emails whizzing back and forth tell the story as we get serious.

Looking at hotel rooms

I have been looking at hotels room everywhere. And as usual all the reasonable and good ones are disappearing already.

Hotels will average $200-250 per night in Norway.

Copenhagen is off the wall  Prices are ridiculous!! 

Sweden sort of in the middle....

And the other factor is so many twin rooms are really small, like minuscule, ie 12 sqm and less, so perhaps have your own room if I have to book those size rooms.

Finally after three solid nights on the computer and endless emails the cruise is booked and the deposit paid!

We managed to get the last two Starboard O cabins. 

I paid extra so we were guaranteed to get a cabin with single beds not a double!!.

They are on the lowest deck........what does that mean Trace?? We get seasick!?!?

I will receive an email with excursions etc. Will let you know when it comes.

So the Scandy folder has begun as I printed off confirmation etc.

Just doing some thinking...can you confirm which cruise we ended up with please?  I'm guessing you will have a 'Trip it' trip started...just wondering if we work on one Trip it or two?

Also I'm thinking tonight I will have a look at what's up the top at Kirkenes, where we finish the cruise...might be something worth looking at before flying south maybe.

Better get off and get some tea, before I begin in earnest.

Just sat down to compose an email to you both...... I’ve been sewing today as my eyes needed some time out from the computer.

We are on the Nordkapp leaving on the 5/9.

Yes tripit has started putting the flights in. I’ve forgotten how to add you. And don’t think Tracy has tripit on her devices.

Another update

Tracy, Nic and I almost have our flights sorted now, thanks to my wonderful booking agent. Mine are totally sorted, just trying to finalise Nic's.

We are flying with Singapore Air to Copenhagen on the 30th August.

And returning on the 23rd September.

We leave here on the 30th of August and arrive into Copenhagen at 6.25am the next day, 31st. 

At this stage I am thinking we will be best to probably go straight onto Oslo, then we can just chill. 

Haven't looked at the best way to go but I am guessing a flight as we are in the International airport.

And Trace hopefully you will get into Oslo on the 30th too.

So this is my plan for Norway ........The 1st and 2nd will give us 2 full days in Oslo.

Go to Bergen on the 3rd. I haven't explored how we will get there yet. 

A full day tour "Norway in a Day" on the 4th.

The 5th in Bergen, probably half a day-ish, until it's time to join the cruise.

Cruise 5-11th then fly to Stockholm. NIc you have the remainder of that day, then 12th-16th in Sweden and go from Malmo to Copenhagen the morning of the 17th.

Trace that gives you the 18th -22 to do what ever in Denmark.

That plan gives both countries an equal time frame of days but nothing is set in stone.

I was talking to my well travelled neighbours today, and Suzanna's first comment was "It's so expensive"!!

Oh boy, there is a fair bit of reading and figuring out in those shore excursions...think i'd better get onto the Sweden bit...you are setting a high bar indeed.

Based on their slightly weird seasons - our cruise is actually a Summer Cruise - I think...it says summer lasts from the June solstice (typically June 21 UTC) through to the September equinox (typically September 23,
